Random thoughts.....
As everyone should no by now the groundhog saw his shadow so predicts 6
more weeks of winter.
Newt called a news conference where he announced that his campaign was going
to be much more positive. He then spent the next 19 minutes spewing hate
about Romney. He just can't leave his "angry, fat man" image behind.
I worked extra hard this weekend and caught up totally on paying off winners.
So, if you click the past winners button you will see all the winners we had
for 2011.
One last thing...my Super Bowl prediction = NY Giants.

COUNTDOWNS - 40 possible horrible days of winter left.
Windows Update - I am liking Windows 7 more and more as I use it. I have
gotten the blue screen of death once, so don't believe
the hype that that is gone. I had been running 7 on a
fairly old HP system. But, since Microsoft is talking
about bringing out version 8, which will be a major
rewrite, I decided now was the time to get a system with
windows 7. I do NOT want to be buying a system with a
new untried op system. 8 will have to go through several
updates before its problems are worked out.
UPDATE!! I have my new laptop with Windows 7 on it. Now
to just get a new memory stick, since my old one died, so
I can move everything over from the old system.
New Update!! - got my new memory stick so
will start moving the files on to my new slick laptop.
Book Reviews (What the lizard is reading)
1. Killing Lincoln by O'Reilly - Yes he is a jerk on his show and I
hate his other books which are just rewrites of what he
has spewed on his show...but, this book is really good and
I learned tons of stuff I never knew about lincoln or his
being shot. All I had ever been told in school was Booth
was a disgruntled out of work actor who shot the president
escaped to a barn and was killed. Well the story is so
much more. Very interesting read.
2. Thunder Dog by Nelson- a blind man, his seeing eye dog and 78 floors
on 9/11. A good read with a different point of view on
that fateful day.
3. My Seizure Dpg by Moss - Okay it is not really a "book". But it
is such a touching story I had to list it here. Evan Moss
has seizures so severe his parents can NEVER leave him alone.
He is getting older and they are getting so tired from
having to watch him constantly. They are told that a seizure
dog could relive them from being the constant ones on watch.
However, they are far from rich and a seizure dog costs well
over ten thousand dollars. What tod do? Well, 7 year old
Evan Moss knows what to do. He writes his own book and
illustrates it and puts it up for sale on amazon.. He
now has made enough to get his dog but keeps selling books]
to help others in the same situation. Buy one for yourself
or your small kids or grandkids.
4. My Life, deleted by Bolzen - A very good book. It is about Scott Bolzan,
a former NFL player and successbul businessman, who slipped
while entering the bathroom early in the morning hitting his
head on the floor and losing much of his memory. He doesn't know
his wife, his kids, his parents or much of anything else. So
this is his story about how he has to relearn everything that
we all take for granted having picked the knowledge up during
our growing up years.
